A 32-year-old man from Knysna will appear in court this week in connection with the murder of a nine-year-old girl.
Western Cape police spokesperson, captain Bernadine Steyn, said the man was arrested shortly after the little girl's body was found on Saturday night.
She says the girl's family reported her missing in the afternoon and her body was found several hours later with an open wound to the neck.
Steyn says the suspect faces a charge of murder.
