About 100 residents of Plettenberg Bay held a service delivery protest in the town on Friday.
Residents threw stone at passing cars and dropped burning tyres onto the road from an overhead footbridge.
Thee were no reports of injuries or damage.
Police were called to the scene but did not take any action against the protestors.
The local fire department extinguished the burning tyres.
