Sentencing proceedings against convicted serial rapist Luvuyo Mananga get underway in the Bhisho High Court on Wednesday.
He was convicted of his crimes earlier this month after DNA positively linked him to 11 cases of rape, kidnapping, and robbery with aggravating circumstances committed largely in Mdanstane in East London.
He was also found guilty on a charge of pointing a firearm at one of his victims.
Provincial police spokesperson, Captain Khaya Tonjeni, said Mananga was charged in connection with a crime spree that began in 2007 when he raped and robbed a 22-year-old woman and ended in 2011 when he attacked and threatened to kill his last victim.
He had pleaded not guilty to the string of charges against him.
