A security guard was shot dead at the Red Location Museum in New Brighton, Port Elizabeth in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Police spokesperson, Captain André Beetge says the guard was employed by a private company, Metro Security.
He says it is alleged that the victim, who was doing duty at an outside-post, went to the toilet, and on his return, a single shot was heard by 5 of his colleagues, who were in the museum at the time.
Beetge says he was hit in the head, and died at the scene.
