The second victim of Saturday night’s deadly accident involving Nelson Mandela Bay Executive Mayor Nqaba Bhanga has been identified.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg named the deceased as 39-year-old Sandile Ronald Sicolo.
He was travelling in a grey Audi in which a 44-year-old woman, Nonzwakazi Maho, was also killed when they collided with Mayor Bhanga’s Mercedes Benz.
The accident happened on the R75 on the corner of St Leonards Drive and Uitenhage Road at 11.30 pm on Saturday.
The circumstances around the accident are still being investigated and a case of culpable homicide is under investigation.
Mayor Bhanga is in a stable condition in hospital following surgery on Sunday to treat internal bleeding.
