Port Elizabeth police have arrested a second suspect for the murder of 83-year-old Anne Ferreira, two years after she was killed in her Summerstrand home.
Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said members of the Mount Road Cluster task team made the breakthrough on Friday.
She said a 39-year-old man was arrested at his aunt’s house in Zwide and will appear in court on Monday on charges of murder, rape, robbery and kidnapping.
The first suspect, 28-year-old Sizwe Jika, is already serving an effective 20-year sentence for Ferreira’s murder.
She was found strangled in her Summerstrand home in May 2018.
Her stolen car was found abandoned near Despatch.
