Members of a tactical task force have made another big perlemoen find along Marine Drive in Port Elizabeth.
The operation was carried out in conjunction with officials from the Department of Fisheries.
Task team commander, Tom Schwartz, says they found a total of 866 units of perlemoen with an estimated street value of around R200 000.
Meanwhile, Schwartz says a man was arrested on Thursday night on a charge of attempted murder after he allegedly tried to run over a member of the task force.
He says they had been observing a suspected poacher who jumped into his vehicle and tried to flee and in the process almost running over one of their members.
Schwartz says the man was arrested and his vehicle confiscated. He will appear in court soon.
The Task Force members seized more than a thousand units of perlemoen after arresting a man in Marine Drive.
