Port Elizabeth police are investigating a second-murder within the span of just a few hours, with possible links to SMME's in Nelson Mandela Bay.
Black Business Caucus co-ordinator and SMME leader Baba Ningi was shot and killed in broad daylight in Zwide on Monday.
Then, at around 9.30 pm, the 38-year-old Nkululeko Ngcakasi was gunned down in Tshawula Street, New Brighton.
Captain Andre Beetge says New Brighton Police were on patrol when they heard a number of gunshots.
They arrived on the scene to find a white Opel Corsa with several bullet holes in the front windscreen.
The body of Ngcakasi was found a few metres away from the vehicle.
Captain Beetge says he was shot through the windscreen, and possibly also as he tried to get away from his attackers.
He says there is no motive as yet, but police have a strong suspicion Ngcakasi's death is also linked to tensions around business dealings involving SMME's in the Metro.
