Second day of international Mohair summit in Jansenville


 Growers, buyers, manufacturers, designers and even interior decorators from around the world at in Jansenville, in the Eastern Cape, the epicentre of the world mohair industry.

The Karoo town is hosting the second International Mohair Summit, which runs through to Saturday.

Algoa FM's Deon Blume is in Jansenville and filed this report.


"Stakeholders from around the world are exchanging innovations , growing new markets, exploring new applications and experiencing first hand the splendour of the place of which around the Mohair industry evolve . The province produce 50% of the world's product. The summit which was first introudced to the Industry in 2009 has since grown in size and reach and this year it's held at the heart of the Moahir route where the idea was first born from the Mayor of the Ikwekezi local municipality, Sizwe Mgwemboe with the support of Mohair South Africa to rejuvinate the sector and stimuate the rural economy and increase job creation"
