Search intensifies for Riebeeck College teacher

Port Elizabeth police are ratcheting up the intensity of their search for 28 year-old Riebeeck College teacher Jade Panayiotou.

They've established a Joint Operation Command Centre at the Kabega Park police station - anyone with information can call the centre on 041 397 68 73

Panayiotou has been missing since 6.30 on Tuesday morning after apparently being abducted from outside her residential complex in Deacon Road,  Kabega Park, while waiting for her daily lift to school.

Port Elizabeth police have established that  a withdrawal was made from her bank account at an ATM in Kwanobuhle at around 8am.

Captain Sandra Jansen Van Rensburg says a  CCTV footage image of a man making a withdrawal at the ATM can be viewed on the AlgoaFM News social media platforms..

"If we can find this person, he can assist us with the investigation. I must say this photo has been sent out to various online pages already. If anybody can assist us with information please contact us"

Van Rensburg confirmed that a reward of R150 000 is being offered for Panayiotou's safe return and that more than 200 police members are involved in the search for her.

"We have got various units involved in this search. K9, a chopper and various members of the community" she said
