Eastern Cape law enforcement authorities are continuing the search for a prisoner who escaped from the North End jail in Gqeberha on Sunday.
Andries Venter was jailed in June for a theft committed in Port Alfred and was serving a two-year sentence.
Eastern Cape Correctional Services spokesperson, Nobuntu Gantana says Venter is considered to be a dangerous person and should not be approached by members of the public.
If he is spotted authorities should be contacted directly.
Nobuntu says the circumstances surrounding is escape is under investigation.
