The NSRI says the search will continue on Monday for a Port Elizabeth father and his son, who went missing at sea off Beachview.
Spokesperson Craig Lambinon says the 35-year-old man and his 10-year-old son, and a 16-year-old nephew launched a canoe to go fishing in calm seas at approximately six pm on Saturday evening.
He says the craft is believed to have capsized at around 7pm, about half a kilometre off-shore, and the teenager swam to shore just after eight to raise the alarm.
He says about 50 people were involved in the subsequent search.
