Eastern Cape provincial traffic officers will be receiving a fleet of high-performance vehicles on Monday.
The handover will take place in Mdantsane in East London and will be done by Transport, Safety, and Liaison MEC, Weziwe Tikana.
Department spokesperson, Unathi Binqose, said these vehicles will reinforce the ability of traffic officers to deal with the high demands of traffic law enforcement, particularly at this time of the year.
He said the handover will coincide with the welcoming of some 500 newly trained police officers and the launch of a massive anti-crime operation by SAPS in and around East London.
