School prostests continue in the Eastern Cape

Learners and their parents at Sanctor High School in Port Elizabeth's northern areas took to the streets for a second straight day on Thursday.

They're protesting the on-going issue of teacher-shortages.

AlgoaFM News Editor Shadley Nash was at the scene.

"There is a group of learners and parents from the Sanctor High School that have now moved to Westville High school in the Northern areas. They want to get the learners out of the school to give them support for their grievances regarding the non payment and shortage of teachers at schools. Earlier it would appear that tyres and other debris were place in various parts of Stanford road. The police have now cleared the road and it has calmed down now but there is quite a big group of learners and parents at Westville High School" Nash said.
