The Eastern Cape Department of Education in partnership with the University of Fort Hare will see ten principals in under performing districts undergo a leadership and management training course.
Under performing districts are mainly situated in the eastern half of the province such as Butterworth, Lusikisiki and Bizana.
Department of Education, District Director General, Sithembela Zibi, said that the idea is to give principals capacity in structural leadership so that they are better equipped to lead the teachers and that they do better when it comes to grade 12 examinations results, this year and in the future.
The project will be launched later this month in East London.
