Three women will appear in the East London Magistrate's Court on Monday on robbery and theft charges.
The women, aged between 26 and 56 years of age, were arrested on Friday following complaints from members of the public about their activities in the Cambridge area.
It is alleged that the group would approach an unsuspecting person and lure him or her into believing that they could bring them luck and fortune, thereby robbing them of their groceries, belongings and at times cash.
Police say the women were out on bail for similar crimes at the time of their arrest.
