Eastern Cape police have arrested a 26-year-old suspect, after a man was murdered on a pavement in Uitenhage.
Police spokesperson, WO Gerda Swart says the victim, 47-year old David Botha and the suspect were sitting on the pavement on the corner of Durban- and Lower Drostdy Streets on Saturday afternoon, when they allegedly became involved in an argument.
She says the suspect suddenly took an empty beer bottle and hit Botha against the head. He fell to the ground and the suspect kickedg him.
Police were informed about the incident and Botha was found dead at the scene.
Swart says the suspect was arrested shortly afterwards, and he will appear in court tomorrow.
