State Prosecutor Zelda Swanepoel says the Supreme Court of Appeal has declined a bid by controversial Nigerian pastor, Timothy Omotoso, to have Port Elizabeth Magistrate Tandeka Mashiyi's bail application refusal-ruling overturned.
This was revealed by Swanepoel in the PE Magistrate's court on Wednesday morning.
Fifty-nine-year-old Omotoso has been in custody ever since his arrest at the PE airport on the 20th of April last year.
He is facing multiple charges, including charges of Human Trafficking and racketeering, and was back in the PE Magistrate's court today along with his three co-accused.
Omotoso and his three accused are facing multiple charges related to the contravention of the sexual offences act. The case has been postponed to the 15th of May for the NPA to centralise the case and add a charge of racketeering.
Omotoso will remain in custody while his co-accused are out on bail.
