A Port Elizabeth woman was full of praise for the police after her Algoa Park house was burgled while she was sound asleep.
The 35-year-old, who wanted to remain anonymous, said she was astounded when police woke her at 3 o'clock this morning to inform her about the burglary and that a 31-year-old suspect had been arrested.
She also said that police had returned all of the stolen goods.
"I would like to say thank you to the Algoa Park SAPS, the night-shift team and the guys who were patrolling in Bethelsdorp for recovering all my stolen items. Thank you very much. May God protect you and keep you safe always" she said
She told Algoa FM news that she does not even want to think about what could have happened to her had she woken up.
She wrote on her Facebook page this morning that she was amazed to see what her God was capable of.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, the suspect was arrested by a Bethelsdorp police patrol who were on their way to the Algoa Park police station.
She says when the suspect spotted the police vehicle, he dropped a bag containing various household items including notebook computer and computer equipment. Police contacted the woman by finding her details on a card among the stolen items
He will appear in court soon.
