The EFF has given police in the Eastern Cape an ultimatum to arrest who they believe is the prime suspect in the death of Namhla Mtwa.
The 35-year-old Mtwa who worked at the OR Tambo Municipality was gunned down in her vehicle last month in an alleged hit.
EFF Provincial Chairperson Yazini Tetyana says they demand Mtwa's boyfriend be arrested within three days. Failure to adhere to that will result in the party taking extra measures to ensure that he is brought to book immediately.
He says failure to make an arrest will further prove that the ANC is protecting him as he is an influential member of the party.
Mtwa's death has made national headlines after her family members managed to unlock her phone where they found images suggesting that she was physically and mentally abused.
The Mthatha businessman's photograph and his name are all over social media with thousands calling for his arrest.
According to DespatchLive, the boyfriend was arrested in 2018 for allegedly killing one of his employees and wounding another.
He was granted bail of R50 000.
