Eastern Cape police have arrested seven officials from the SAPS' administrative division in Zwelitsha, King Williams Town.
Provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Sibongile Soci, says they appeared in court on Friday on charges of fraud and corruption related to procurement processes.
They were granted bail of a thousand rand each and will be back in court on the 2nd of March next year.
They were arrested by the Hawks on Thursday.
Soci says the SAPS has identified corruption as a focus area and all police members were informed that police management will not tolerate any forms of fraud and corruption.
"We have taken measures to ensure that ,as far as possible, all our activities and administrative processes are corruption free. Regular audits are conducted to prevent the manipulation of the processes and systems in our financial and supply chain components. The arrests were swiftly made when irregularities were picked up" she said
