Barely a day after an elderly couple from Reebok in Great Brak River was assaulted in their holiday home by three armed men, another victim in the same neighbourhood was held at gun point, also by three suspects.
The second armed robbery happened at around 3am on Thursday, a stone's throw from were the first incident took place on Tuesday.
The suspects fled with cell phones, laptops and I-pads. Shortly thereafter the police followed up on clues and scoured beaches between Mossel Bay and Great Brak River.
Two suspects were arrested during this operation. According to the spokesperson for the police station, sergeant Chantel Marais, the possibility exists that the two men can be connected with the first armed robbery in which the elderly couple were brutally assaulted.
The two men remain in custody. The couple are still being treated for their injuries in a local Mossel Bay hospital.
