Eastern Cape police have confirmed that criminal case dockets have been found at a dump site in the East London area.
Provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana, says the circumstances which led to the dumping of these dockets have not been established.
However, he says SAPS management has appointed a senior officer to conduct an investigation into the matter.
Kinana says the finalisation of the investigation will determine the next course of action.
He said as much as this was a concern for police management, they nevertheless do not want to make speculate on the issue.
According to a post on the Buffalo Insider Facebook page, the dockets were found in Unit 10 in Mdantsane.
