A man whose decomposed body was found dumped in a bag outside a school in Schauderville has been identified.

Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says family members identified him as 35-year-old Siyabulela Zonqo.

His family became concerned and made contact with the police on Wednesday.

She says according to his family, Zonqo left his home in Veeplaas with a friend on the 29th of November to go look for work.

Colonel Naidu says it is alleged that Zonqo then went to a tavern in Korsten at 3 pm on the same day.

She says his friend was looking for him at 6 pm to go home but he was nowhere to be found.

Zonqo's body was discovered by a bush dweller on the 3rd of December when he opened a bag he found lying against a wall in Grundling Street.

Zonqo had a belt around his neck and his hands were tied behind his back with another belt.

Colonel Naidu says his feet were bound with sellotape.

She says the circumstances around his disappearance and murder remain a mystery and the investigation continues.
