Eastern Cape police have arrested four suspects for the murder of three family members in Thantseka Village in Bityi on 2 February.
Provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana, said the arrests were made over the past two weeks with the first made on the 14th in Mabeleni locality in Mthatha.
The second suspect was arrested several days later in Phingilili Locality also at Mthatha.
Kinana said 26-year-old Ntlangiso Aphelele Dumo, and 37-year-old Chwayitile Mthetheleli Mtheza appeared in court on Thursday on murder charges.
“The case was remanded to the 23 March for a formal bail hearing. They remain in police custody," he said.
Kinana said the remaining two suspects were tracked down to Rustenburg and would appear in court on Monday.
The arrests relate to the fatal shooting of a 62-year-old woman and her 13-year-old grandson in their homestead in Thantseka Village in Bityi early this month.
The gunmen then proceeded to a second house nearby where they shot and killed a 44-year-old woman, the daughter of the elderly woman.
