Agri Eastern Cape has distanced itself from the man who killed a traditional healer on a farm near East London at the weekend.
The incident in which 45-year-old Fritz Joubert, bludgeoned his 40-year-old friend, Anele Hoyana to death, has caused outrage on social media.
Some gruesome details were revealed in a video Joubert posted onto his Facebook page, shortly before being shot and killed by police on Sunday.
Agri EC President Douglas Stern, says contrary to what is being reported, Joubert was not a commercial farmer.
He says referring to him as a farmer only tarnishes the efforts of real farmers who are trying to build an inclusive, safe, non-racial sector.
