The South African National Defence Force has dispatched medical personnel to the Eastern Cape to assist the province in the fight against Covid19.
On Sunday, Premier Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane welcomed the arrival of the military healthcare practitioners from the South African Military Health Services.
He said the deployment included 12 doctors, 35 military nurses, and five clinical associates.
“The provincial government will announce the specific hospitals these South African Military Health Service members will be deployed for their daily operations,” he said.
Mabuyane said he believed they would play a major role in helping the province fight Covid19.
