A 23-year old man is expected to appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court on Monday on a charge of murder.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Pricilla Naidu says it is alleged that 40-year old Roland Tobias and the suspect were arguing about work-related matters at the Cleary Park taxi rank in the city's northern areas on Saturday.
She says both were working as so-called ‘guardjies’ on taxis.
Naidu says the suspect became angry and walked away, but returned a few minutes later and stabbed Tobias in the neck.
He died at the scene.
The suspect later handed himself over at the Gelvandale police station.
