The municipal offices in both Jeffreys Bay and Humansdorp have been closed to the public as a result of an unprotected and illegal strike by Samwu members on Tuesday.
The Executive Mayor Horatio Hendricks says SAMWU called on their members to strike in Jeffreys Bay on Tuesday and all offices have now been closed to ensure the safety of staff and the public.
The municipality appealed to the public to not put out their black bags on Tuesday as some of their services are affected by the strike.
