Former Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Communications Manager, Roland Williams, has been granted bail of two thousand rands.
He appeared in the Port Elizabeth magistrate's court on Thursday on a charge of fraud.
His court appearance relates to an investigation by Santam insurance company which reportedly involved the late tow truck operator Raven Rungan.
At the time it was reported that it had been arranged for Williams’s BMW to be smashed up so it looked as though it had been in an accident.
The case against him was postponed to the 23rd of August.
