The fraud case against former Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Communications Manager, Roland Williams, has been transferred to the Port Elizabeth Commercial Crimes Court.
Williams made a brief appearance in the Port Elizabeth's Magistrates Court on Wednesday where the matter was postponed until the 31st of August for further investigation.
He was arrested in July following an investigation by insurance company, Santam,
The case is connected to a 2015 probe following claims that Williams allegedly staged a car accident to collect a pay-out of almost R100 000.
Meanwhile, the assault case against two Nelson Mandela Bay ANC councillors, Andile Lungisa and Gamalihle Maqula has been postponed yet again.
Lungisa and Maqula briefly appeared for pre-trial proceedings at the city's Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning.
The two councillors are facing charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm following a violent brawl at a council sitting last year.
The State and the Defence previously agreed on a trial date however defence attorney, Luthando Mgqakayi, told the court that he had submitted representations to the Director of Public Prosecution's office.
He said that he needed to receive the DDP's decision first before deciding on a trial date.
Speaking to the media outside court, Lungisa said the case will continue to be postponed because according to him the matter should be resolved in Council.
The provisional trial date has been set down for the 14th of September.
