East London police have arrested two suspects following an armed robbery in the IDZ near the airport.
Police spokesperson, Captain Stephen Marais, says three men robbed a security guard of some cash, his two-way radio and cell phone yesterday afternoon.
However, they threw the cell phone back at him before fleeing, saying it was "common" and that they did not want it.
The guard then used his phone to call the police, and two of the suspects were arrested in the Orange Grove informal settlement soon afterwards.
Marais says police also recovered a .38 Special firearm, which was reported stolen on Christmas Eve.
