A suspect accused of an armed robbery in Thembalethu, George, more than nine years ago is still on the run after skipping bail.
Captain Dumile Gwavu says 32-year-old Luzuko Lungawe and an accomplice allegedly robbed a liquor store of thousands of rands worth of alcohol as well as airtime, cell phones and just over R2 000 in cash.
He says Lungawe was arrested two years later and appeared in court in March of 2014 where he was granted bail of R1 000.
Captain Gwavu says he was never seen again and a warrant of arrest was subsequently issued in the George Magistrate’s Court.
He says police have two addresses for Lungawe in Nelson Mandela Bay - one in Bethelsdorp and one in Kwazekhele.
