Robbers, armed with an axe and knives, robbed a Lorraine townhouse resident and guests late last night - and then forced one of them to help drive the stolen getaway car because none of them could drive.
Police spokesperson, Captain Stanley Jarvis, says the three people present in the Van Eck street townhouse at the time, were tied up before the unit was ransacked.
Computers, cameras, cell phones and other electronic goods were loaded into a car belonging to one of the guests.
He was ordered to go with them and help with changing the gears, since none of them could drive, and they somehow found their way to Walmer Township, where the car hit a pile of sand and stalled.
The robbers took off by foot with their loot, leaving the man behind.
No-one was injured.
