Gauteng police have launched a manhunt for three suspects who assaulted and robbed a tavern owner in Freedom Park, which left five patrons dead.
It is alleged that the suspect, who were wearing balaclavas, stormed into the Intaba Tavern on Monday where they assaulted and robbed the 35-year-old owner.
While fleeing with their stolen money they men randomly started firing shots fatally killing five patrons.
Two other patrons, a man, and a woman were injured and rushed to a hospital for medical treatment.
Police members who were patrolling the area escaped unhurt after some of the shots damaged their state vehicle.
Police have noted with concern, a video clip circulating on social media, purporting to have bee captured just after the shooting incident.
This person is urged to come forward as it can assist in the investigation.
