Police in Kariega are investigating a case of attempted business robbery after three armed suspects entered a Post Office in Caledon Street and held staff at gunpoint early on Friday.
SAPS spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge, says they overpowered a staff member who works at the postal delivery section, demanding keys to the main operational section of the office after 6 am.
He says when another employee arrived moments later, they demanded the same from him, before realising that neither of them had keys in their possession.
Beetge says they took a cell phone belonging to one of the employees before fleeing.
He says nothing else was stolen and no one sustained any injuries.
