Plettenberg Police have launched a manhunt for two men who robbed a local Post Office of an undisclosed amount of money.
Police spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie says the suspects, who were dressed like vagrants with balaclavas struck at about 2.30 pm on Wednesday.
He says they threatened the teller with a firearm, demanding all the cash from the safe and tellers.
The suspects fled with a substantial but undisclosed amount of money stashed in a handbag.
Captain Pojie says Plett police have activated a 72-hour plan to mobilize all available resources and experts who are busy combing the crime scene.
Forensic experts and the K9 unit combed the scene to find clues.
A business robbery is under investigation.
Any person with information is asked to contact the police.
The police station is situated in the same street as the Post Office and is, in fact, only a minute away.
