Roadlink passengers left stranded


Some 30 Roadlink passengers have been stranded in George after the bus they were travelling in was pulled over by traffic officials in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Passengers say the bus was impounded at about 1AM while travelling from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth.

One of the, passengers, Khanyise Thongani, says she was on her way to Port Elizabeth to attend a funeral.

Passengers were left stranded for about 8 hours without any word from a Roadlink representative an alternative transport arrangements.


Meanwhile, SA Roadlink says they have arranged for another coach to pick up the stranded passengers to bring them to Port Elizabeth.
Chief operating officer, Joe Mushwana, says the impounded bus has also been taken to Scania to replace a cracked windscreen.
