Two rhinos named Bonnie and Clyde have survived after suspected poachers removed their horns in what has been described as a surgical operation.
Peter Been, the owner of Schotia Safaris near Paterson, says the rhino had been missing on the game drive from Tuesday and were not seen on Wednesday.
He says they found one of the rhinos staggering out of the bush on Thursday and called the vet.
Been says by nightfall the second rhino had been found.
"They were both drugged and their horns cut off but in this instance as the vet put it, it was one of the cleanest operations he has seen, the horns were surgically removed with a saw. The Rhino were not injured badly at all, It is actually a miracle, a happy ending to a sad story," he said
