UPATE: The giant grader that was stolen in Zwide over the weekend was found in Motherwell on Monday afternoon.
The well-known Davidson family in Gqeberha is offering a substantial reward for the recovery of one of their giant graders, stolen from a lock-up facility in Zwide over the weekend.
Stu Davidson and Sons CEO Patrick Davidson told Algoa FM News that the bright yellow grader is worth R3.5 million to replace and they really want it back.
He says the grader had been hired out on a short-term contract at a school in Zwide but was apparently loaded up and removed from the school yesterday without anyone suspecting anything was amiss.
Davidson says it’s the first time in all his years in the construction industry that someone has even contemplated stealing a machine of this size – let alone get away with it.
He said it was for this reason, they’re offering a substantial reward for its recovery.
Anyone who knows of the grader’s whereabouts can contact the local offices of Stu Davidson and Sons Construction or their nearest police station.
