Uitenhage police have appealed to the public to assist them with information regarding the murder of former Nelson Mandela Bay councillor, Buyisile Mkavo, who was shot dead in Kwanobuhle last weekend.
Police spokesperson, WO Gerda Swart says police are offering a reward of up to R50 000 for information that will lead to the arrest and successful prosecution of the attacker.
It is alleged that the suspect approached Mkavo's vehicle from the left passenger side and shot him through the open front window.
The 40-year old was hit in the upper body, and he died at the scene.
