Port Elizabeth police have arrested a 29-year old man following the murder of a man and a woman in Salsoneville.

Police spokepserson, Capt Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the suspect was arrested on Sunday morning, after the killings at the victim's house on Saturday evening.

She says a 79-year woman and a 55-year old man were attacked with a dangerous weapon, and both died at the scene.

The suspect is in custody, and will appear in court soon.
