The Provincial Organised Crime Investigation Unit in Port Elizabeth has offered a reward for information that could lead to the arrest and successful prosecution of those responsible for killing two of their members last year.

Police Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says on the evening of 10 August 2017 an off-duty Sergeant was gunned down in his home in Wells Estate. it is alleged that the suspect was seen fleeing the house before being picked up in a back street by a white car. The 43-year-old Sergeant Linda Wilson Mzuku was stationed at the Bethelsdorp police station.

She says the second murder was that of Constable Nomvuybeko Mjandana who got shot and killed while responding to a panic alarm in North- End.

The 37-year-old Mjandana and her partner arrived at business premises in Paterson Road in North End, shortly before midnight on the 21st of December.

Naidu says as they were waiting by the gate they got attacked by two unknown suspects who fired several shots at them.

Mjandana died on the scene while her colleague was wounded.

In both cases, the members' service pistols were stolen.
