The cause of a fire that damaged a restaurant and other buildings on Knysna's Thesen Island is under investigation.
Knysna/Plett Herald reports that fire started shortly after eight last night at the well-known Ile de Pain restaurant.
Hotel guests were also reportedly evacuated from the nearby Lofts Boutique Hotel.
Knysna fire chief, Clinton Manuel, was quoted as saying that several business premises and offices had been affected by the fire.
No one was injured in the blaze.
