Repairs to a broken pipe, feeding water to Grahamstown, should be completed this afternoon.
That's according to a notification that Rhodes University sent out to students and staff on Sunday, following communication from the Makana Municipality.
According to the notification, the arterial feeder pipeline between the Howison's Poort pump station and the Waainek water treatment plant burst on Saturday morning.
The repairs were done, but the pipe ruptured again late on Sunday morning.
The Rhodes communique said that it's anticipated that it would take two days before the water supply is fully restored to the city.
Efforts to get comment from Makana Municipality were unsuccessful .
