Repairs to Aston Bay/Paradise Beach causeway to commence

 The Kouga Municipality says repairs to the causeway between Aston Bay and Paradise Beach at Jeffreys Bay are set to commence in February.

Municipal Manager Sidney Fadi says sections of the causeway will be resurfaced and the foundation strengthened.

He says the repairs are scheduled to take place from February 10 to March 31, however, residents are advised that the schedule is weather dependent.

The causeway will be closed to vehicles while repairs are underway, but limited pedestrian traffic will be allowed at own risk, depending on the water levels.

The surface of the causeway suffered extensive damage during 2014 due to strong winds and high water levels.
