Repair work commences at Maitlands water pipeline

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality says the draining of a pipe at the Maitlands water mainline took longer than anticipated, but its now dry and safe enough for repair work.

Metro spokesperson, Mthubanzi Mniki says the maintenance team started with repairs during the night, and will continue  work is completed on the pipe.

Mniki says reservoirs are running low and everyone is asked to cut back on water consumption.

He urged consumers not to fill extra containers, as it reduces available water supply.
