Authorites on the Garden Route have once more cautioned against the collection of shell fish from the Knysna estuary until further notice.
This, after possible evidence of a so-called red tide was observed on Sunday.
The caution was put out on Monday in a joint statement by the Knysna Municipality, the Knysna Basin Project and SA National Parks.
They say common types of red tide can kill shellfish, abalone, black and white mussels and oysters, while other blooms can be stored in mussels until they become poisonous if eaten by humans.
