Crunch time for prospective voters as elections loom large

The head of the ANC's election sub-committee says the next few months will be crucial for the public in deciding what kind of government it wants.

Malusi Gigaba was speaking during the provincial ANC rally at the Harry Gwala stadium in Maritzburg at the weekend.

The rally was attended by more than 40 000 people.

"The campaign of the ANC is going to be based on the volunteers of the ANC on the ground visiting every household, on the manifesto of the ANC, the promises that we make. It will be based on the legacy of the ANC, right from the founding in 1912 to the present moment." says Gigaba.

Meanwhile, The ANC has announced that it's Mxit app, first introduced in the Western Cape, is now available country-wide.

The ANC's Khusela Sangoni says they're excited by the venture with Mxit, which is a proudly South African mobile application.

She says they're aiming to reach young South Africans between the ages of 17 and 25.

Sangoni says the exciting thing about the My ANC app is that it allows for a two-way dialogue.
