Port Elizabeth police are investigating a case of hi-jacking following an incident on Monday morning in Algoa Park.

Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg says 5 suspects approached a female traffic officer as she was leaving home.

Van Rensburg says one suspect was armed and held the officer at gunpoint.

The hijackers then fled in the traffic officer's private vehicle which was later recovered in Zwide.

The officer escaped injury but was severely shocked by the incident.

There have been no arrests.
